Welcome back to Term 4!
In 2SV this term we are doing a unit of work called "Beware! Scientists at Work".
We will be investigating how scientists think and work by conducting and reporting on experiments and their scientific processes. Students will also investigate the characteristics of a variety of materials and how they can be combined and used in everyday life.
We will be sharing the results of these investigations in a Science Expo for peers and parents on Culminating Day.

Two big events happen this term. Swimming lessons at the Dayboro Pool start in Week 5 and continue for 5 weeks on Wednesdays and Fridays, culminating in our Junior Swimming Carnival on 2 December. The other big event is our excursion to the Queensland Museum Sciencentre on Thursday, 12 November. We will be travelling there and back by bus with some parent helpers. We can't wait!

Mrs Smith is back as our Monday and Tuesday teacher and Mrs Vaughan continues as our Wednesday, Thursday and Friday teacher. We have Library lessons and borrowing every Tuesday and PE and Music lessons every Monday.

Our mascot Kenny Koala is continuing to visit lots of children's houses on the weekends. Students enjoy reading about his adventures in his Travel Diary.
'Bob' the class budgie also enjoyed lots of home visits last semester. Please check the roster for each child's turn this term.

Homework and Home Reading have already started again. This term the students again have a weekly task to complete based on our unit. Parent support to complete this, along with Spelling, and Home Reading (nightly) is greatly appreciated.
End of year reports will come home in the last week of school but please feel free to make an appointment with Mrs Smith or Mrs Vaughan at any time if you are concerned or have any queries about your child's progress.

Just a reminder for parents to check with their children that they have all the school supplies they need for Term 4 - pencils, erasers, sharpeners, spare exercise books and scissors.

Looking forward to another great term!
