TUCKSHOP IS OPEN ON WEDNESDAY THURSDAY and FRIDAY most weeks of the year, excluding public holidays, pupil free days and sports day/swimming carnival day etc.

Tuckshop is a P.& C. Fundraising venture, run by two partially paid/volunteer convenors, and we are assisted by volunteer parents on a once a month roster basis.

The Tuckshop has to comply with State Government legislation regarding the supply of Healthy Choices. This limits us as to the types of food and drink we can supply. Products in our Tuckshop come under the Green – eat as much as you wish – and Amber – eat occasionally – categories. We do not knowingly sell any RED products, but as the legislation keeps changing and the bar is set higher all the time, we do our best to comply.

Below are two diagrams of how to fill out a tuckshop bag. Your assistance with this will make things so much easier for us at lunch time.

Break Times are: First Break (BIG LUNCH) 11.00am

Second Break (Little Lunch) 1.20pm

It is preferred that you mark the bags accordingly – first break or second break. Child’s name and class need to be on the bags. If either of these is missing, the bags are held in the tuckshop for collection. Once bags have lunches in them, they are placed in class boxes and placed in the appropriate area where the children eat.

If the bags have a rubber stamp mark on them, that means that there is an item to be collected from the Tuckshop. These items are marked *** on the menu for easy identification.

We sell iceblocks, chips, frozen fruit, and various other items over the counter. Iceblocks and chips are available at FIRST BREAK ONLY. DO NOT SEND huge amounts of spending money – there is a lot of buying for friends which is not recommended, ‘borrowing’ of money, etc and it’s not only in the upper school – the little ones are quite good at it!!! For your peace of mind you can order over-the-counter items on bags – prices range from 10 cents to $1.80. Anything in between is fine.

Children with special diets – allergies, gluten intolerant, diabetes are catered for in our tuckshop if you advise us. If we don’t know we can’t do!

LATE ORDERS: It is very difficult to prepare food for children when they bring their order down once the lunch time bell has gone. It can take up to 20 minutes on a busy day to get their order prepared, which they are not happy about, however it is tuckshop policy to feed the children who do the right thing and then prepare the late orders. If we have a spare set of hands this makes things a lot quicker.

SPECIAL DAYS: Once a term we have a special ‘fun’ day at tuckshop. Different foods are available.

We could be travelling to a new country of the world or having a theme day. Notice is always in the newsletter of when these days are coming up.
