Our school, situated approximately 50 kilometres west of Brisbane, is nestled in the picturesque D’Aguilar Ranges. The students of our school come from the families who have chosen to live in our very pleasant rural environment and include children from the local farming areas, Dayboro township and semi-rural acreages. Dayboro State School was established in 1874 and was known as Terrors Creek Provisional School. The present school site was built upon in 1920 to meet the needs of a growing Dayboro Community.

STUDENTS

Dayboro is a Band 8 primary school with an enrolment of 345 students, including 46 Prep students at the beginning of 2008. Enrolment trends indicate a gradual but slow growth rate.

STAFF

The school has a highly professional teaching staff whose focus is continuous improvement in order to provide the best possible education for all students. A range of advisory visiting teachers and professional office and ancillary staff supports classroom teachers.

  • A well-resourced school library.

  • Two adventure playgrounds installed in 2007.
  • Two tennis courts, cricket nets, oval .
  • a  modern tuckshop and administrative block .
  • Landscaped garden areas .

COMMUNITY SUPPORT

The school is an integral part of the Dayboro Community. Parental and Community input play a vital role in the operation of the school. The P&C Association is very active and is consulted and involved in the direction setting of the school through collaborative decision making processes. It supports the school through fundraising projects, by assisting with the organisation of school functions and by having working bees to maintain and develop school facilities. Association meetings provide a forum for ideas and opinions. Input from parents and community members is highly valued by the school.
