History of Dayboro State School
| Raaens School and Hell Hole school (1874 – 1919) were the two different sites which were used by local children before the approval was given to relocate and construct Dayboro State School. In 1920 students moved in. Student numbers are recorded at 53 in 1917 with an increase to 104 in 1928. During the 1920’s and 30’s many children were forced to take long breaks (2-3 months) due to epidemics, which swept the area. In 1924 the school was given a new building due to the increase in student numbers. Teaching staff have always acknowledged the importance of rural influences and in the 1920–40’s clubs and projects such as Bee, Calf and Milk clubs were incorporated into the curriculum. |
